The Ladies-

Nine PR’s and a Meet Record were earned by the young Raptor ladies in the meet.

The Girls 4x100 were Meet Champions.  Tatum Gratrix, Janae Wilson, Malanya Gaines, and Zenobia Witt combined for a Meet Record time of 50.51.  Previous record was 50.90, set in 2014.

Quincy Clayton prepares to lead the Raptors to relay victory

The Fellas-

24 PR’s and two Meet Records highlighted a day for the Boys that would also see them take home the team title for the 3rd meet in a row.

Cam Bell ran 15.59 in the 110m Hurdles for the win and Meet Record.  It was a dominating performance by the 10th grader.  Aanu Gowda followed Bell up with a 3rd place finish in the event, clocking a PR of 17.19.

Freshman Cy White

Cy White won his heat of the 100m Dash, and finished 5th overall with a PR of 11.70.  It would be the first of three times in the meet that the freshman standout would cross the finish line in front of the pack.  White anchored the winning 4x200m Relay (along with Quincy Clayton, Miles Turner, & Bell), as well as the Meet Record 4x100 team (with Clayton, Turner, and Bryson States).

Hocker, Lechuga, & Jones Dominated the Shot Put

In the Field, Thomas Lechuga led the Raptor charge in the Shot Put, winning the event with a toss of 40-0.  Javon Jones took 4th and Parker Hocker 6th in the event, earning major points for their team.  The horizontal jumps were swept by the Raptors, with States winning the Triple Jump (41-6.25), and Bell taking the Long Jump (19-3).

By the time the lights suddenly went out during the 4x4 (with Turner on the track), the meet title was already in hand for the Raptors.  This was the first time EHS had won this meet, despite many years of attendance.  The Raptors outpaced rival Cherokee Trail by 31 points.

The Boys Athlete of the Meet was Cameron Bell.
